Barbara’s pieces are influenced by her travels and everyday life. She has taken inspiration from places such as India, Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle Gardens in Marrakesh, The Valley of the Queens in Luxor and museums and galleries in London. These places have fuelled her imagination and influenced her jewellery. She has incorporated these different ideas and allowed herself to create timeless pieces that will be returned to time and time again.
Barbara honed her skills while studying jewellery and silversmithing at Sir John Cass University in London. As a trained goldsmith her attention to precision and detail is reflected in all her work, which is handmade in her London workshop. Mainly using sterling silver plated in 18ct gold, she combines a variety of modern techniques with more traditional processes such as wax carving, Keum- Boo (fine gold fusing), and reticulation.
