Caroline came upon the art of textiles quite by accident but we are glad she did as her works are simply divine. She came across a course in embroidery while writing her PhD and what started as a small hobby to escape the hours spent in the library studying and to give her a break became one of her biggest passions. Her love of vivid landscapes and delicate birds has led her to create stunning works in mixed media involving the use of pen and ink, paper collages and the layering of cleverly designed textiles.
Caroline’s fervour to express the beauty in the world around her is palpable. Her love of birds and the rolling landscape shines through every lovingly created piece. Her medieval artworks are delicately created with shimmering threads and lush textiles. Caroline’s work is heavily influenced by the landscape where she lives in the Yorkshire Dales where she is surrounded by amazing wildlife and flowing scenery. Her work is bursting with enthusiasm for her craft and a real sense of pride and creativity in what she does.
The glorious colours and textures in Caroline’s work are intoxicating; drawing you in and willing the colours to undulate before your eyes making the works ever more enticing. Caroline works happily on her many ideas, brimming with enthusiasm and she is open to suggestions and commissions. Her work is exciting and vivacious and we’re sure that you will see Caroline’s love of landscape and birds throughout her inspiring work.
