Beautifully created by ceramic artist Sally Dunham. This wonderful female figurative stoneware sculpture has been skilfully handmade and finished with an attractive bronze and gold glaze.

All of Sally's work is unique and individually handcrafted from clay. She uses a mixture of earthstone and porcelain clay and constructs the pieces hollow, using no moulds or interior supports, building with small slabs of clay pieced together almost like a patchwork quilt. Each individual pieces of clay can be clearly seen in the finished piece, giving these sculptures a lively and tactile surface. The sculptures are twice fired, with the final glaze firing reaching a temperature of 1200°C, this is how the two-tone colouring is achieved.
