This spontaneously handmade decorative pot was created using St Thomas stoneware. It is unique, heavily textured and has been fired a total of five times to create an elaborate collage of various slip's, glazes, decals, and gold lustre. The lid is removable and is fitted with a vintage metal drawer handle knob.
Claire's work is heavily influenced by the ‘aged’ and ‘distressed beauty’ of Miss Haversham’s wedding table in Charles Dickens's novel Great Expectations and the darker, more curious side of Victorian life. Claire says, " A love of Theatre and Victorian Gothic combined with a life spent exercising a vivid imagination encourage the particularly British peculiarity of my ceramics."
