A beautiful walnut and silver centrepiece consisting of five sterling silver bowls on a walnut stands. Handmade my distinguished silversmith Malin Winberg.
This piece has been partially in influenced by ancient tales of Finnish folklore, in particular poem 41 of the Kalevala. A composition which tells the story of Väinämöinen, the eternal singer, playing a pike-bone harp. When he plays, all creatures of the forest gather around him. Men, women, and animals sit down and weep to the music, and Väinämöinens own tears trickle down into the water where they turn into pearls.
Bowls range from 50mm to 80mm in size.
The walnut stand is approx 400mm length x 250mm width.
