Bank of Tescland - Original Acrylic Painting

A comment on capitalism versus heritage and culture. The constant rise of Tesco on our high streets and taking over historic buildings inspired this series of paintings by Twinkle Troughton.

"More people stepped inside a Tesco’s than they did into churches in 2008. Shopping has become a religion with material goods something we worship, shopping centres are the new Mecca’s, and Tesco’s will become our generation’s legacy as they continue to take over our land."

Acrylic and ageing varnish on canvas, set within a gold frame.

Size: 65cm x 65cm
