The Raven is a potent symbol in many cultures and in our own ancient culture was said to be a mediator between the worlds. Lisa has painted the Raven in this context, symbolically flying from dark to light. The Raven here is depicted as flying across the full moon which gives the contrast in light and shade. She has used mainly blues in this painting and explored the depths of shadow that can be created by the many layers of different blues.
