On holiday with her family in North Yorkshire, Wendy came across a beautiful glade with sunlight streaming through; it was as though they had stumbled across a secret, magical place, and in this piece Wendy wanted to capture the essence and fleetingness of this beautiful experience. Indeed, having worked with the nude form for much of her artistic career, Wendy decided to use this painting as a turning point in subject matter and technique, using it to explore line, texture and light in an all new way.
This piece is made with Prouts Brown ink on handmade Indian rag paper.
Prouts brown ink is non waterproof, and thus enables for constant readjustment and the subtle build up on transparent tones; the result is a wide range of colours ranging from delicate cream to a lush, rich brown.
Size: 56cm x 76cm
