Rayford Holroyd draws his inspiration from the beautiful landscapes and eclectic mix of new and old architectural features that can be found in the UK. By excluding people from his paintings they are brought to life by the personality innately present within our every day surroundings. The result is a tremendously unique style that brings huge heaps of fun and a brilliant sense of character to the genre of cityscape painting.
While studying for a degree in Industrial Design at university, Rayford developed his passion for art in his spare time. He would produce pencil drawings to commission, even selling one of his early drawings to the Hon Simon Howard of Castle Howard, North Yorkshire. Entirely self taught Rayford only recently decided to pursue his love of art as a full time profession, thus allowing him the time necessary to develop his skills and highly recognisable style as a painter.
