Beautiful abstract marble sculpture of a female form titled, 'Girl'. Skilfully sculpted from white greek marble by accomplished sculptor and artist Simon Burns - Cox.

Simon loves working with marble because of its texture and the endless potential of its many veins and colours. Although many of his sculptures are abstractions, they have their origins in and draw inspiration from natural forms. This sculpture illustrates war in the world, its inevitability contrasted by our stubborn belief that one-day wars shall be no more. The dark central stone is polyphant, hard and aggressive, while the softer white marble circle is intended to represent our never-ending search for peace and tranquillity.

His pieces are domestic in scale and designed not to shock but to please. Simon hopes that people will handle and look closely at his work become aware of the hidden beauty in the world around them.
